近年来,主持了国家自然科学基金重点项目、面上项目,国家十三五研发计划项目等多个国家地方项目;在国内外学术刊物上发表研究论文150多篇,其中在Nature Communications, Nature Plants, Plant Cell, Plant Biotechnology Journal, New Phytologist,Plant Journal, Journal of Experimental Botany等著名刊物发表 SCI收录论文100多篇;出版教材、专著7本;申报国家发明专利10项。先后招收博士后10人,博士生30多名,硕士生60多名。2005年被评为重庆市“322”人才工程人选。现为重庆市学科学术带头人,重庆市科技创新领军人才,重庆市转基因生物安全专家咨询委员会副组长,重庆市科技顾问团成员,重庆大学植物学学科负责人及学术带头人。担任中国园艺学会采后科学与技术分会副理事长;重庆市园艺学会副理事长;重庆市植物学会副理事长;担任多本国内外学术刊物编委。担任Nature Communications, Plant Cell, New Phytologist, Plant Physiology等多个国际刊物审稿人。
